What a week!

We have had a roller coaster of a week this week. But all is good, so we are happy!
At my weekly check-up on Wednesday, the doctor decided I needed to go for an ultrasound, normally a good thing, but not at this stage, usually they only do them this late if there is something to be worried about. Well I was measuring small, and have been for a while, but I hadn't grown in the last few weeks, so the dr. wanted to make sure everything was ok, and she was pretty sure the baby wasn't head down anymore, so she wanted to check that out too. So I was a mess on Wednesday, I was worrying, even though those 2 things aren't big things, they had me worried. Well I am happy to report that we had the ultrasound this afternoon, and the baby is head down, and is average size. It is in the 50th percentile, and from what they can tell is weighing over 6 lbs at this point. The tech said everything looked good to her, but that the doctor could tell me more, so I'll have to wait until Wednesday to know forsure, but I am not worried anymore.
Here is the picture we got today, not the greatest picture, but it is our baby, and I think it is the best looking baby in the world! (just for comparison, the second picture was taken on May 16th the whole baby fit in the same size frame as the baby's head fits now)
Also my wonderful co-workers had a surprise baby shower for me at lunch today. I thought I was just going for lunch with my boss, but we got to the restaurant, and there were about 25 people there! It was so nice. Our little baby is spoiled already, and there were even gifts for me, not just the baby! It made me feel so special. We also got a gift card for Walmart from my team and we were able to go and buy the last of the things we needed, so we are all set for the baby to come.
And just to give you all a laugh, here is a picture of my Cankles (aka what used to be my ankles). A little bit of water retention... you think? I wasn't wearing tight socks either, my feet were just that swollen. This picture is the worst they have been.

Thats it from Gallitown, just under 4 weeks to go!

Sweet Momma & A Hospital Tour

Sorry, but it's another baby update.
I've been going to physio since the car accident, but the physio therapist told me 2 weeks ago that there was nothing more she could do for me until after the baby was born, and she suggested that I go for massages. Well this new place opened in Edmonton called Sweet Momma, it is like a spa for pregnant women, it is awesome. So I called to book a massage, but they were booking 2 weeks in advance, so I finally got in yesterday for a 60 minute massage, it was Awesome. I have never had a massage before, but it was so wonderful and relaxing (well, after I got over the fact that a stranger was rubbing my body). They have these nifty water tables that you can lie on while they massage you, it was very cool. I would highly recommed it to any pregnant woman! I have appointments booked for the next 2 weeks, and I think I am going to book a weekly one up until the baby is due.
We had to miss prenatal class last night becuase we both have this nasty cold, and I didn't think the other preggos in the class would appreciate us coming and sharing our germs. So that sucked, but Bri was happy, one less video for him to watch!
Tonight we went on a tour of the hospital we are hoping to have the baby at. It made it so real, but I am so excited to be having the baby at the Sturgeon. I just hope we don't have to go in rush hour, 'cause it took about 35 minutes to get there at 7:30 at night, I don't want to think about doing it in rush hour while in labour! I was suprised to learn that everything happens in your room. They put you in a private room when you get there, and that is where you labor, and deliver, and recover, and stay, all in the same room, you don't have to leave. It is great, and the rooms are huge, and you get a huge washroom to yourself. Also the baby stays with you, there is no nursery, the baby is with you the whole time. I felt very comfortable there, and am really looking forward to delivering there. Bri really liked it too, there is a fold up bed in each room for the husband to stay over night, I like that.
So that is about it for an update, 5 weeks to go!

Fernando Update

34 Weeks today, also 34 is Fernando's #, so I though it was fitting to do a baby update. Things are still going well. I am getting bigger everyday. I can't believe we are only 6 weeks away from being parents. I can't wait! We are both so excited. We've had 2 pre-natal classes so far, I thought I was going to die at the last one though, we had to watch the most graphic video I have ever seen. It was awful! But we survived, only 4 more to go!
We are pretty much ready for baby now though, we've got all of the big things ready, just a few little things left to get.
I'm still hurting from the accident, and there isn't any more the physio therapist can do for me until after the baby is born, so I just have to go for weekly massages, my first one is next week, I am hoping it helps!
Anyway, that is pretty much all that is going on around here. Bri is good, and so are Bear and The Duke.
I'll leave you with the most recent belly shot... it is not at all a flattering picture, but I am 34 weeks pregnant, what do you expect!
