Abby's first Swim

Chrissy and I (and all the other leaders) took the Junior & Senior Youth Groups swimming on Saturday night. The church rented Londonderry pool which was cool because we had the whole pool to ourselves. This was Abby's first time swimming and who better to do it with then her cousins Logan & Jonah! She screamed when we first put her in but she got used to the water quite quickly and seemed to have a good time. I was very proud of my girl. Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure...

Our little Eskimo

Abby is 5 weeks old today. Her and I just went out for a little shopping trip, but we had to cut it short because she was being a crank-pot, I am guessing she is tired. Last night was a rough night, she decided she didn't want to sleep, she wanted to be wide awake and cry. Bri tried for an hour but couldn't get her to sleep, so I tried and had no luck, not even her swing would work, she was just not a happy girl. I hope that is a normal baby thing and it doesn't mean she is getting sick or something, but I also hope it doesn't happen often, 'cause I am tired!
Anyway, apart from last night, she is doing really well, normally she sleeps for 4 hour stretches at night. I weighed her on Monday and she was 9lbs 11 oz, so she is growing well. Here is a pic of her in her jacket from Kirst and her family, it is perfect for this cold weather, and she looks like an eskimo.

Christmas Lights

So as you all know I can be kinda dumb sometimes. Here’s a good story for you:

This weekend Chrissy and I decided we’d put all the Christmas stuff up including the lights outside. I am kinda lazy so last year I left most of the lights up. It was a big pain in the butt to go up and down the ladder so I decided to be smart and leave the lights on so when I was up the ladder I would know which bulbs were burnt out and needed to be changed. Everything was going well until I got to a bulb that had broken. It was laying in my gutter (which was filled with water). I grabbed the bulb and felt a sharp pain. I thought I had cut myself on the broken glass. So, I just kept working away and then I dropped the string of lights back in the gutter. So, I reached in and grabbed the broken bulb AGAIN and it gave me a huge ZAP. I then pounded on the roof until Chrissy came out to go and unplug the lights. My thumb and index finger are still hurting today.

Note to self: electricity + water = bad news

4 weeks old

Miss Abby is 4 weeks old already! Time sure does fly!
Angie and Kassidy came over for a visit today, it was nice to sit and chat and eat cookies! Thanks for visiting Angie! Abby likes her friend Kassidy, as you can tell by the picture. Kassidy will be 4 months old on Monday, she is exactly 3 months older then Abby.

Abby and I were having some fun taking self-portraits, this was the best one we got, we need to work on getting her to look at the camera!

Tomorrow Gallitown goes Christmas, we are decorating the house. I am so excited! Something about having a baby around makes Christmas more special this year. I can't wait to take our family picture in front of the tree! I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Chunky Monkey!

Abby got weighed again today, as per the Doctors orders, because she wasn't back at her birth weight by 10 days, the doc wanted to make sure she was putting on weight. Well she is.... she was 9lbs 3oz this morning! I'm so proud of my little chunky monkey!
There was a baby shower for Abby at the church last night, she was sooooo spoiled! Thank you to everyone who was there, it means a lot to Abby and I. And Abby would like to say a big thank you to her Auntie Sue for putting it all together, and to Auntie Beth for the games. I have just spent the last 2 hours going through all of the loot! Here are some pictures from last night:
Tomorrow Abby and I will be apart for the 1st time, I am going to get my hair done, and Granny and Grandpa are babysitting. I am soooooo excited! I know I am going to miss her like crazy, but my hair really needs to be done. I am getting it cut and colored, my roots are so bad, but that is what happens when you get pregnant and can't dye your hair. Abby's Auntie Caryn is doing my hair, she always does a good job, so I am sure tomorrow will be the same!

3 Weeks Old

Abby is 3 weeks old today. She is doing so well, and she is just so darn cute! I find myself just staring at her all the time, I still can't believe that she is ours. She is such a good baby. Here are some pics from this past week:
I love this one, she is ready to punch someone!

This swing is a life saver, and she loves it!

Her hat is a little big, poor girl.

Our Little Pork Chop

October 20th: Birth weight: 7lbs 13.8oz
October 30th: 10 day check up: 7lbs 10oz
November 6th: 17 days old: 8lbs 7oz

that's right folks, almost a pound in 1 week! I am so proud!
I was worried that she wasn't gaining weight, well she proved me wrong today! I weighed her on two different scales at the health unit, so it has to be right!
Gotta run, she is hungry again!!!!!!

Great Grandparents

I was thinking this morning how nice it is that Abby has so many Great Grandparents. Chrissy and I are so blessed with awesome families that love & support us so much. So far, because my family all live in Edmonton, Great Grandad Gallimore & Great Grandma Durling have been able to see and hold Abby. Also, Chrissy's Grandparents Venables came for a visit from Ottawa to meet Abby. At Christmas, Abby's Great Grandparents from Toronto, the Kelly's will be coming for a visit. Here are some pictures of the some of the Great Grandparents:

Game Day

Abby and her daddy put on their jerseys tonight to cheer on the Oilers. Let's hope the Oil can pull out a win. Right now they are losing 2-1 at the start of the 3rd. Come on Oil, win one for Abby!
