Our Big Girl!

Our little girl is growing up so fast! She is 11 weeks old today! She even slept in her own room last night! She has been sleeping through the night for about 3 weeks, but because our bedrooms are in the basement, I wanted to get a heater for her room, so we finally got it, and now she can sleep in her room! She slept great last night, me, not so much! I was so worried, as I am sure most mothers are the first night their baby is in another room, it was hard, and I woke up every hour, but we survived!
I took her to get weighed today, 12lbs 6 oz, and she is 22 inches long, I think, the thing to measure her confuses me!
Here is a picture of her napping right now, in her own room!
She has also found her voice, she now laughs and talks to her toys all the time! I was trying to get a video on here of her talking, but I couldn't get it to work, maybe next time.

Don't worry Chrissy every mom is like that the first night. I sometimes find myself worried about the kids in the middle of the night. I think it's what mom's do. Hopefully tonight you will have just as good a sleep. Miss you guys! Oh and Abby is super cute! I know I say that everytime but it's the truth.

I didn't have that hard a time when Maya started sleeping in her own room. We moved her into her room when she was just over a month old. She was sleeping through the night the whole week before so we thought it was time. I keep a monitor by my bed now and sometimes I wake-up during the night when she makes a noise but it's usually nothing.

Isn't it cute when they start talking all the time?! I almost died when I heard Maya giggle. WAY COOL!

Abby is a cutie!

Man is she ever getting cute!! What a doll. Zoë used to sleep through the night too and I got used to it and then one day she stopped doing it. argh! I hope she continues to be a good sleeper for you.
Zoë only slept in our room for the first 5 days and then I moved her because I found that every little sound she would make woke me up. We all sleep much better this way.

Okay ladies, when you say "sleeping through the night" I need you to elaborate...
My son goes to bed at 9:30pm and I don't hear from him until 5:00-6:00 for a bottle then he goes right back to sleep until 9:00am. Do I count the 9:30pm-5:30am as through the night? Cuz I don't. I'll consider through the night 9:30-9:00 no interruptions. Am I wrong or should I be jealous because your kids are sleeping the full 11-12 hours with nothing in between?
What are their schedules like at what age? (Sorry Chrissy to hog your blog, but I'm honestly curious if I have some training to do on my son! ; ) - Also, I put him in his own room at 3 weeks, but I miss him so every morning his last hour is in bed with me... I LOVE IT!

Lindsey...I would consider anything longer than 8 hours straight sleeping through the night. My daughter used to sleep 12 hours straight when she was about 3 months old and now she goes for about 6 or 7 hours and she is 7 months old. I think your little guy sounds like he is sleeping really well. You are lucky!

Abby would go to sleep at 10 and get up at 7, eat for like 5 minutes (I call it a top up) and then sleep again until at least 9. The past few days she hasn't woken up for the 7am top up and has slept until at least 9. Not sure if that has something to do with her being in her own room or not. Bri gets up for work at 7 and Abby would usually wake up while he was in the shower, not sure if that was a coincidence or not. But I gotta tell you, being a mum is much easier with 8 hours of sleep. Oh by the way, I slept much better last night, still a little worried, but I did much better!
oh, and Lindsey, you aren't hogging my blog, I think it is good for us to share information.

Michael is 9 weeks old and I'm lucky if I get him to go from 10:00pm or 11:00pm - 4:00am (most of the time he wakes up at 3:00 or 3:30am). Then he'll wake up for an hour, have a full bottle and go back until 7:30am. I can't wait for him to sleep through the night. Since he came into our life, Gabrielle has decided she doesn't want to sleep through the night either so she wakes up at 2:30am. So basically we are waking up every couple of hours. Oh to have a full night's sleep again!!! Be thankful for 8 hours of straight sleep!

Everyone does everything differently and there is nothing to say as to what is "right or wrong". My one year old daughter sleeps in my room still cause that is what I feel comfortable with. When the new baby comes, or maybe a little sooner, she will go to her own room. I always thought people who put their little babies in their own rooms so young were so brave, but now I just do things with what I am comfortable with and that is what works for me, even though MANY people think it is "wrong". As for the sleeping through the night thing, maybe it's because of my decision to have them in my room but my kids do not sleep through the night. The one year old and the two and a half year old. Again if this is because I am "wrong" in letting them sleep in my room then it's my own problem to get up so much with them in the night.
Your daughter looks great and she is so beautiful. Everything you are doing with her seems to be working right for you. I hope the sleeping thing continues to work well for you!

glad to hear you got a better sleep...hopefully the sleeping will continue to be successful...
sure it isn't an infant, but i had sleep problems of my own last night due to my flu-infected husband hogging the bed... i don't know how you new mums do it with the sleep deprivation.

I love it when they start to talk. Yeah Abby! Now, can you tell me how to turn off the talk during a church sevice? Haha! Little Kassidy just spouts off whenever she wants. I think it's cute, but don't know what all the old folk think. : )
